Los Angeles native Beth Hart who is a blues-inspired rocker and street performer who began her career in 1995 on Immortal The album, which gained her acclaim for her raw, outspoken personality and her innate musicianship, emotional live performances as well as a voice that was compared to Janis Joplin. Chuck Taylor, Billboard's October 2nd issue of 1999, declared that Hart is "the perfect example of a natural woman," and was "bawdy and funny, chatty with her choice in spiced languages, free-wheeling and free-wheeling." But that's a lot of white bread when in comparison to her stage presence as the tall, graceful singer/songwriter walks around and blasts out songs with the ferocity of Mick Jagger .... At other times, she takes her seat at the piano or the center stage, where she sits without a shred of pretense, her legs draped across the sides of a chair, her voice that is so tender and painful, you wonder if she's going to cry--or if you will.
