She's covered sports for several of the biggest media outlets across the world. She was a reporter for The Washington Post nearly a decade and covered Grand Slam Tennis and Grand Slam Football as well playing basketball in multiple Olympics. Nichols began a nine year period with ESPN which saw her win two Emmy Awards, and featured on many of ESPN's top shows like NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. Also, she was a an integral part of ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcasts as a sideline reporter. The next step was CNN and Turner Sports. Nichols was employed by TNT as a broadcaster who reported on NBA games including regular season games, playoffs and All Star television broadcasts. She has also worked for TBS in the capacity of a journalist who covers baseball and golf broadcasts. CBS broadcasted the Final Four. Only the second woman has been picked from over two hundred nominations in the 42-year old history of the award.
